Sarah & Andrew tie a most beautiful knott! This is a video I shot of a beautiful couple, Sarah & Andrew, on their wedding day. Palm Springs provided a wicked cool backdrop to the entire day and the weather was just right considering. The evening was tops though as the sun set behind the hills of Palm Springs & the sky was on fire with rich color. Their laughter & fun was contagious and spread throughout the entire wedding party & attendees.

Congrats again Sarah & Andrew!

Filming Paolo Miguel Mata for his 21st birthday was a blast. His royal court made the evening as they danced the night away. With months of practice, the entertained the audience with many forms of dance. My personal favorite was when they broke into Michael Jackson’s Thriller!

Here’s to another 21 years Paolo! Cheers!!

Filming Tracy & Teresa was a blast! We had so much fun. Teresa, Tracy and all of their bridesmaids and groomsmen were so “chill.” They MADE the day memorable. I witnessed once again true love! Teresa told us how excited she was to be marrying her Tracy! Tracy’s love for Teresa was totally evident from the start, yes, even when he shed a tear or two! It was really cool to meet Tracy’s boss Rob Dyrdek. All-in-all, it was a day to remember!

Today is April 20, 2009 and It’s been a month since I got married and I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to blog about it but here it is! I got married on April 21, 2009 to my beautiful bride Desiree. We got married at Red Hill Country Club in Upland, Ca. The day had so many highlights and I’ll share a few of them here. I got to spend my last night as a single man hanging out with my brothers and the following morning, my uncle flew down from Arizona to not only attend my wedding but also to be my emcee. As family poured into to the venue, and the wedding just minutes away, I remembered all of the many weddings I’ve had the privledge of filming and thought to my self, “Now it’s my turn, I’m finally here! I’ve got 2 brothers and 1 sister and I was the last to tie the knott!

One of the biggest regrets about my wedding was that I knew my best friend wasn’t going to attend my wedding because he’s right now serving our military over in Iraq. I did however have a plan. We arranged for him to be here virtually and we pulled it off. With a laptop, a wireless internet connection and Skype, we were able to connect with him. His dad walked around the reception with the laptop and got to see just about the whole thing! That really made our day! I also had my friend ” Jason Tucker DJ the wedding and that was super cool too as he controlled it all from his iphone………wireless! We also got to hire one my favorite photograpers, Danny Cortez of Danilo Photography. The weather was perfect, the food was great, everyone we love was there and we were blessed tremendously with gifts!

So………..after about 8 years of dating. I am now a married man. It’s still so new that I can smell the fresh paint on the walls!

At the end of February some participants plan what’s known as a “FAWM Over Party,” or “FOP.” Their were some wonderful FOP’s all over the world as we came to know and our FOP in southern California was held in San Dimas and was hosted by Steven Wesley Guiles.

With 17 performers and about 30 other people, it was a packed house and the night totally rocked! It even felt like family as many of us came to know each other on the forums over at http://FAWM.org. It was also photographed by Israel Morales of Door Thirteen Photography. He wrote a blog post with photos and has links to over 100 photos on flickr. You can access his site by clicking here.

Josh & Lisa were so much fun to film for this Bridal Film Short. From the moment the camera was rolling, they had so much fun with it. In fact, I could’ve made a whole separate film short with just the outtakes! When we do a Bridal Film Short, I do as little directing at first and as time goes by, we hold out the stops and see where it takes us. I find that this makes for a more interesting film.

The beauty about these film shorts is that we film them in locations that are meaningful to you. It’s my goal to film and edit in a way that really captures the spirit of the couple I’m filming. The more freedom I have in directing, the more I’ll film interesting shots. It’s all up to you. Doing this unscripted is so much fun. I never know how the final product will come out and that’s the best part for me. This is art!!

Filming Donald & Cindy was a long fun day. The wedding & reception took place at The Mission Inn in Riverside, Ca. As you can tell from the video, this is a prime location when it comes to photos & video. Everywhere you turn, you find gorgeous architecture of renaissance & spanish styled facades. One great thing about this day is that everything took place here from the morning on. This is not only good for me but everyone is a lot less stressed. The wedding day can have people on edge but this day, everyone was relaxed and just enjoyed themselves.

The guys were……well, they were guys! They had fun cracking jokes at each other as they prepared for the day. I also enjoyed it because these were old friends from my high school days. Cindy and her friends & family were preparing in a big room they have there. Their room had all of the amenities that you expect of a 5 star hotel including fresh wine & cheese. Once they were all ready and moved into the wedding chapel, it was time to get the show on the road and they did with style. They held all of the stops and made it a day to remember. Part of the joy that comes along with filming weddings is that every once & a while you get to film the wedding of an old friend or family member. When I was asked to film Daniel & Lisa’s wedding, a flood of memories came to me. I remember seeing Lisa as a little girl and here she is today walking down the aisle to be given away in marriage. It really is a beautiful experience. I remember she’d come over to play with my sister way back in their early days of grade school!

Filming at this house was also a treat for me. This is the house of her parents. It’s an old historical home which is decorated with antiques from many generations and has beautiful spanish style architecture. The ceremony was held on the house lawn and the reception was held on the side portion of the house. I think home weddings are some of the most beautiful types of weddings because they offer unique views that can’t be found at a hotel or church. All in all, it was a beautiful day and the night was filled with gorgeous candlelight and the warm summer.
