Josh & Lisa were so much fun to film for this Bridal Film Short. From the moment the camera was rolling, they had so much fun with it. In fact, I could’ve made a whole separate film short with just the outtakes! When we do a Bridal Film Short, I do as little directing at first and as time goes by, we hold out the stops and see where it takes us. I find that this makes for a more interesting film.

The beauty about these film shorts is that we film them in locations that are meaningful to you. It’s my goal to film and edit in a way that really captures the spirit of the couple I’m filming. The more freedom I have in directing, the more I’ll film interesting shots. It’s all up to you. Doing this unscripted is so much fun. I never know how the final product will come out and that’s the best part for me. This is art!!

Filming Donald & Cindy was a long fun day. The wedding & reception took place at The Mission Inn in Riverside, Ca. As you can tell from the video, this is a prime location when it comes to photos & video. Everywhere you turn, you find gorgeous architecture of renaissance & spanish styled facades. One great thing about this day is that everything took place here from the morning on. This is not only good for me but everyone is a lot less stressed. The wedding day can have people on edge but this day, everyone was relaxed and just enjoyed themselves.

The guys were……well, they were guys! They had fun cracking jokes at each other as they prepared for the day. I also enjoyed it because these were old friends from my high school days. Cindy and her friends & family were preparing in a big room they have there. Their room had all of the amenities that you expect of a 5 star hotel including fresh wine & cheese. Once they were all ready and moved into the wedding chapel, it was time to get the show on the road and they did with style. They held all of the stops and made it a day to remember. Part of the joy that comes along with filming weddings is that every once & a while you get to film the wedding of an old friend or family member. When I was asked to film Daniel & Lisa’s wedding, a flood of memories came to me. I remember seeing Lisa as a little girl and here she is today walking down the aisle to be given away in marriage. It really is a beautiful experience. I remember she’d come over to play with my sister way back in their early days of grade school!

Filming at this house was also a treat for me. This is the house of her parents. It’s an old historical home which is decorated with antiques from many generations and has beautiful spanish style architecture. The ceremony was held on the house lawn and the reception was held on the side portion of the house. I think home weddings are some of the most beautiful types of weddings because they offer unique views that can’t be found at a hotel or church. All in all, it was a beautiful day and the night was filled with gorgeous candlelight and the warm summer.

Filming Josh & Lisa’s wedding was filled with a day of the usual excitement that comes along with weddings. For the Pre-Ceremony, the bridal party was getting ready in a beautiful mansion above the foothills of San Dimas. It was a gorgeous setting. Normally we shoot candid footage but this day, we had a fun group of people that wanted to pose and try some fun shots so we obliged! With every wedding I’ve found that people really brighten up the day. After the wedding day is complete, it’s not usually the food or decorations you remember, it’s those special moments between you and your invited guests that you take away with you. Josh & Lisa we’re such a fun couple to shoot! We also got to film an interview with them at Bonalli Park in San Dimas as well. All in all, the wedding day is what you make it and they made it a great one. They just went with the flow and kept any stress to a minimum and enjoyed their day. Last year, I got to meet up with a Socal band called Millbrook to film their music video. This video was filmed in 2 days in Arcadia, Ca at Platt College in ‘07. We filmed this entire video in a small room that was made for filming. I think we were the first ones that had used it because the walls still smelled of Chroma Key green paint! Going in, I don’t think any of us had any preconceived notions of what the video would be like so we just came up with ideas as we went along. For props, we only had that cool 50’s style microphone and a few odds and ends of other things. It was a very fun and creative approach. When you’re filming with green screen, the sky’s the limit. All of the forest scenes were created with photoshop & after effects. The challenge was to film this video in such a small amount of space and endure those hot, hot lights! I had the priviledge of directing & filming this video. Daniel Jacob Horine, the lead singer in the video, is also the editor of the film. He’s an up and coming film producer and has some amazing projects lined up such as a 1920’s piece called “The Death of The Matinee Idol.” His company is called The Bashful Tenor Motion Picture Company. This is a teaser reel for a documentary I will be working on for 2008-2009 for Exodus8one.org, a human rights organization. One week before the start of the olympics, a controversial protest made news around the world. I had the priviledge to be a part of this protest in the form of being the multimedia producer for this project. It was a daunting task as I had to produce 30+ short videos & manage a website in a 20 day period. It’s interesting to see the wide spectrum of views that people take in the face of protests, politics & religion. This documentary will shed some light on the issues that were raised and explore the topic of human rights protests locally and abroad. I’ve met some amazing people because of this project and hope to give the cause some justice in my telling of this story.

This short video is actually two videos. It’s a slideshow that contains video clips mixed in with photographs. The 1st half of the video features the childhoos years of Aaron & Alejandra, and the 2nd half features their dating years. This is an earlier piece I did and it’s a simple video that contains many photographs and is set to music. There’s some light motion work & photoshop treatment to some of the photos.

This piece is called “A Grandfathers Love Story.” It’s the telling of memories that go back to the 1950’s in California as my grandfather was married. With the use of old family photos and light motion work, the story of his wedding day comes to life.

These stories are worth telling and putting to film to keep as an heirloom for future generations to keep and pass on. Don’t let your family stories get lost to time.

This is a piece I worked on for a Los Angeles church television show. It was the intro to their pilot episode that was set to air on TV last year. With little time and small amounts of footage or photots, I pieced together this intro using motion. They were a vibrant people so I wanted to convey movement or motion in the clip.
